Fundación Hestia, a non-profit organisation linked to the Hestia Alliance group, signed a collaboration agreement with the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya to promote teaching, research and knowledge transfer and changes in the organisational model and, by doing so, promote more comprehensive and supportive care for the ever growing number of people with prolonged mixed complex health and social care needs, due to ageing, chronicity, multimorbidity, mental health, dependence or social vulnerability.
The rector, Xavier Gil, signed the agreement on behalf of UIC Barcelona along with Eva Luque, legal director for Hestia Alliance. The agreement will have a duration of 5 years and the chair will be directed by Dr Xavier Corbella, lecturer and vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIC Barcelona.
