The deadline to apply for the 2021 Hestia Grants, reserved this year for researchers from the Hestia Alliance group who would like to participate in the research project “Abordaje multinivel de la COVI-19 en el ámbito sociosanitario” (A multilevel approach to COVID-19 in health and social care), closed on 15 July.
The overall objective of the project is to recognise the strategies and actions implemented to address COVID-19 at all organisational and service provision levels of the Hestia Alliance group, the largest provider of health and social care in Spain. This project is directly linked to actions carried out by the Hestia Chair, aimed at promoting research focused on improving the provision of social and mental health services and the care of complex chronic patients with significant social needs. The project has a total budget of €24,000, which will be distributed among the winning sub-projects up to a maximum of €3,500 each.
Seven projects led by researchers from Hestia Duran i Reynals, Hestia Balaguer and Hestia Palau were submitted to this year’s call. The jury was chaired by Dr Xavier Corbella, director of the UIC Barcelona Hestia Chair, and also featured Dr Miquel Fernández Castañer, associate member of the Chair, Dr Susana Subirà, director of the Hestia Foundation, Dr Àngels Cañas, member of the Corporate Management team of the Hestia Alliance Group and Eva Luque, general director of the Hestia Alliance Group, who selected the projects on the basis of their interest in care and projection for the Hestia Alliance Group. Finally, six projects were shortlisted and it was decided to award each of them €3,500. The remaining budget of €3,000 will be used to prepare the final report of the coordinating project BIH2021-01 with the collective result of the six winning sub-projects.
The winners have already been informed of the results of the call, and on 14 December the grants will be presented online as part of the Hestia 2021 joint awards and grant presentation ceremony.
