The awards ceremony for the Hestia Awards 2018, an initiative promoted by the Hestia Chair at UIC Barcelona and the Fundación Hestia in order to recognise high quality research in the field of social and health care and mental health. We will also have a lecture by Dr. Miguel Caínzos, empidemiologist at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, EEUU.
Dr. Caínzos is a cardiologist expert in epidemiology and public health who has recently started as a collaborating professor at UIC Barcelona. His lecture will discuss The use of Big Data to study whether socioeconomic levels determine a better or worse prognosis for patients with chronic heart failure. This research was carried our in the Catalan population stratified by income, assessing the health outcomes and patterns in the use of healthcare resources.
After the lecture, the prizes and prizewinning projects will be presented.
The event will take place in the Auditori at the Campus Salut Sant Cugat at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.
